The South Central Division of the US Lawn Bowling Association was created when the USLBA was re-constituted as one organization in 1990, with the sole purpose of promoting the sport of lawn bowls in the South Central states of Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

In 1990 the SCD AWLBA and the SCD ALBA was formed after getting council approval to break away from the South West Division. In 2001 these two groups merged to form the SCD USLBA.
